Speedboat sinks after colliding with bulkhead at Shibchar, 26 killed
Dhaka, May 3: At least 26 people were killed when a speedboat sank after colliding with a bulkhead at the old wharf at Banglabazar in Kanthalbari of Shibchar upazila in Madaripur. The bodies of 21 of them have been handed over to their relatives.
Speedboat sinks in river, 5 passengers missing
Dhaka, October 23: A speedboat carrying passengers from Koralia in Rangabali upazila of Patuakhali to Galachipar Panpatti launch dock sank amid inclement weather. It was possible to rescue 13 passengers, including the driver, while five people were reported missing until 7:30 pm on Thursday. The incident took place in Agunmukha river of the upazila on Thursday evening.
Speedboat mishap in Bangladesh leaves 2 dead
নিজস্ব প্রতিনিধি, ঢাকা, এপ্রিল ৫ : চাঁদপুরে মেঘনা নদীতে নিষিদ্ধ সময়ে রাতের অন্ধকারে জাটকা ও ইলিশ মাছ পাচারকালে দুটি স্পিডবোটের মুখোমুখি সংঘর্ষে দুজনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। নিহতরা হলেন- চাঁদপুর সদর উপজেলার ১৪নং রাজরাজেশ্বর ইউনিয়নের জাহাজমারা গ্রামের বাদশা দেওয়ানের ছেলে আলামিন (২২)। অপরজন একই এলাকার মৃত খালেক হাওলাদের ছেলে আলামিন (২৮)।
