Nine arrested for selling railway tickets illegally

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, March 23, 2024: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested nine people including sahaj.com peon Md Mizan Dhali and server operator Newton Biswas, one of the masterminds of the train ticket black market ring. RAB and National Security Intelligence (NSI) jointly arrested them in raids from Kamalapur and Sabuj Bagh areas of the capital. Evidence of black market and large number of illegally collected and stocked train tickets were seized from them.

Eid: People still visiting ancestral homes from Dhaka

Dhaka, July 12: Many people could not go home on Eid due to various reasons including not getting leave at work and suffering to get train-bus tickets. However, many people have gone home from the capital even today as the pressure of people to return home after Eid has decreased. This was learned on Tuesday (July 12) at noon at the Kamalapur railway station in the capital.

People wait in long queues to purchase tickets at Kamalapur Railway Station as Eid nears

Dhaka, July 4: On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, a huge crowd of ticket seekers was seen at the Kamalapur railway station in the capital on Sunday to buy advance train tickets. On the first and second day also there were such crowds at Kamalapur and suburban railway stations. Many people have been waiting in line for tickets since the day before. Though the distribution of tickets was scheduled to start from 8 am, thousands of ticket seekers have taken position at the station since Saturday. As the night progresses, the crowd of these ticket seekers increases. There are a section of them who stood in line on the first day but did not get tickets.

Crowd seen at railway stations to buy train tickets physically

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, March 24: On Thursday, the fourth day of the 'five-day closure' of online train ticket sales, Kamalapur railway station in the capital was overcrowded. Passengers have been waiting in queues for hours to buy tickets offline. As all the tickets were sold physically at the station, the pressure on the railway officials and employees also increased.
