EU to give €3.35 million for Rohingyas

Dhaka, July 29: The United Nations refugee agency UNHCR will receive a €3.35 million grant from the European Union's (EU) Humanitarian Aid Department for UNHCR to continue providing protection services and assistance to Rohingya refugees and the local population hosting them in Bangladesh.

Two naval ships reach Bhasanchar with UN aid

UN to help Rohingyas in Bhasanchar

Dhaka, October 7: The United Nations is signing an agreement with Bangladesh for humanitarian assistance to the Rohingyas relocated to Bhasanchar. The agreement will be signed next Saturday (October 9) at 12 noon in the meeting room of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief at the Secretariat. On behalf of the Government of Bangladesh, Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Md. Mohsin and UNHCR Representative in Bangladesh Johannes van der Klaauw will sign the agreement.

Bhashanchar a better Rohingya facility than Cox's Bazar, says UN

Dhaka, June 3: Following a meeting with Foreign Minister Dr Abdul Momen at the State Guest House Padma on Wednesday, UN High Commissioner for Refugees Rauf Mazao told reporters that the Bhasanchar shelter is much better than the Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar.

Rohingyas of Bhasanchar demand Tk 5,000 monthly allowance and standard ration

Dhaka, June 1: Rohingyas have staged a demonstration in Noakhali's Bhasanchar demanding various facilities. Their demands include quality rations and monthly allowance for five thousand takas. They staged a protest in front of a 14-member delegation, including two assistant high commissioners of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), around 11am on Monday (May 31).

Bangladesh votes in favour of Sri Lanka in the UN

Dhaka, March 24: Bangladesh has stood by Sri Lanka like a true friend in times of danger. Dhaka has supported Colombo against the western countries. Bangladesh voted against the resolution in favor of Sri Lanka during a vote at the UN Human Rights Council on Tuesday (March 23rd).
