Dhaka, March 14: Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Muhammad Farooq Khan urged Japan to invest in the development of the tourism industry in Bangladesh.
EPA to be signed with Japan within next year
Dhaka, Dec 28: Bangladesh will complete the signing of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) with Japan by December 2025 to strengthen bilateral economic relations along with duty-free market facilities in the country, the world's third largest economy. Both countries are committed to sign the agreement within this period.
Many Japanese companies interested in investing in Bangladesh
Dhaka, Sept 6: A delegation of Japan said that many Japanese companies are interested in investing in Bangladesh. In response, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, if Japan wants, they will be allotted more space in the Bangladesh Export Processing Zone (EPZ) for setting up industries.
Production cost in Bangladesh almost half compared to Japan
Dhaka, Sept 1: There is some dissatisfaction with the business environment among Japanese companies doing business in Bangladesh. Still they are interested in expanding business in Bangladesh. About 72 percent of Japanese companies feel that the business environment in Bangladesh is somewhat uncomfortable. But the cost of doing business here is very low. About 26.2 percent of Japanese companies are completely dissatisfied with the business environment in Bangladesh. About 45 percent of companies are somewhat dissatisfied.
