Coronavirus reduces government spending, GDP slows
Dhaka, January 20: Corona has reduced government spending. Compared to the first quarter of the last financial year (July-September), the current financial year has decreased by 7.57 percent in the first quarter. Imports, on the other hand, fell 11.43 percent to 12.69 billion. Imports have declined mainly due to lower imports of capital equipment and lower fuel prices in the international market.

নিজস্ব প্রতিনিধি, ঢাকা, ৭ আগস্ট ২০২০ : করোনাভাইরাসের (কোভিড-১৯) প্রভাবে গোটা বিশ্বের পাশাপাশি বাংলাদেশেও মোট দেশজ উৎপাদন (জিডিপি) প্রবৃদ্ধি কম হয়েছে। বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক বলছে, সদ্য বিদায়ী অর্থবছরে জিডিপি প্রবৃদ্ধি লক্ষ্যমাত্রার চেয়ে ৩ শতাংশ কমেছে। বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের হালনাগাদ প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয়েছে, সদ্য বিদায়ী ২০১৯-২০ অর্থবছরে মোট দেশজ উৎপাদন (জিডিপি) প্রবৃদ্ধি হয়েছে ৫ দশমিক ২০ শতাংশ। যদিও গত অর্থবছরে জন্য প্রবৃদ্ধির লক্ষ্যমাত্রা ছিল ৮ দশমিক ২০ শতাংশ। এর আগে ২০১৮-১৯ অর্থবছর শেষে জিডিপি প্রবৃদ্ধি ছিল ৮ দশমিক ১৫ শতাংশ। ...
