Tk 18,221 crore revenue deficit in 8 months
Dhaka, March 26: There has been 16 percent growth in revenue collection in eight months of the current financial year 2023-24. But it could not meet the target. The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has managed to collect Tk 18,221 crore less than the target of revenue collection in eight months.
Revenue shortfall could hit Tk 82,000 cr: CPD
Dhaka, March 16: In the current fiscal year 2023-2024, the government is going to face a huge revenue deficit. Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) believes that there may be a deficit of Tk 82,000 crore at the end of this financial year after observing the current trend of revenue collection for the last six months.
The revenue deficit in the last financial year is Tk 44,000 crores
Dhaka, July 10: National Board of Revenue (NBR) failed to achieve revenue collection targets. In the recently concluded financial year 2022-23, the revenue target of the organization was Tk 3 lakh 70 thousand crores. Against this, Tk 3 lakh 25 thousand 272 crores have been collected. This is Tk 44 thousand 728 crores less than the target. Tax collection has increased by 8 percent in the last financial year. As a result, NBR failed to achieve the revenue collection target for 11 consecutive years.
