Dhaka, July 12: The government has decided to privately import 10 lakh tonnes of boiled rice to control the rising rice market. This information has been revealed from the minutes of the online exchange meeting on the overall management of food grains. Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder presided over the function.

50,000 tons of rice is coming from India by rail

Dhaka, May 6: The country is importing 50,000 tons of rice from India by rail. The total cost of the government to bring this non-basmati boiled rice will be Tk 163.664 crore. The proposal of the Ministry of Food has been approved in the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement.
