Dhaka, Feb 22: After a long wait, the Bogra-Sirajganj rail project is about to end the long suffering of the northern districts of Bangladesh.
Dhaka-Cox's Bazar train will run from December
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 12 November 2023: "We will be able to run a train commercially on the Dhaka to Cox's Bazar and Cox's Bazar to Dhaka routes by December itself," Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan said.
Double line: Travel from Dhaka to Chittagong in train in four hours
Dhaka, July 20: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the dual gauge double line of Dhaka-Chittagong railway from Akhaura in Brahmanbaria to Laksam in Comilla. As a result, there is no single line on the Dhaka-Chittagong railway. It used to take 5 and a half to 6 hours before to go on this 321 km long route but now it will take 4 hours. Currently 23 trains run daily on this main railway line of the country. However, since it has been upgraded to a double line, 72 trains will be able to run from now.
Dhaka-Narayanganj train service will be closed for three months from December 4
Dhaka, December 1: Bangladesh Railway has informed that train movement on Dhaka-Narayanganj railway will be temporarily stopped from December 4 to March 3. This information was informed in a press release signed by Md. Shariful Alam, senior information officer of the Ministry of Railways, on Wednesday (November 30).
Inauguration of Nagar Paribahan on December 26
Own representative, Dhaka, December 20: 'Dhaka Nagar Paribahan' will be inaugurated on December 26 on a 21 km route from Ghatarchar in Keraniganj to Kanchpur in Narayanganj. At first 50 buses will run on this route. The buses will be painted green.
Dhaka-Narayanganj trains from today
Dhaka, August 19: One week after the relaxation of strict restrictions, train services on the the Dhaka-Narayanganj route has been opened. However, instead of 16 pairs, 10 pairs of trains will run for the time being. The train will start running from Thursday (August 19) morning.

Saudi extends expatriate visa until October 30
নিজস্ব প্রতিনিধি, ঢাকা, ৮ অক্টোবর ২০২০: বাংলাদেশে এসে করোনাভাইরাস মহামারির কারণে আটকে পড়া প্রবাসী শ্রমিকদের ভিসা ও ইকামার (কাজের অনুমতিপত্র) মেয়াদ ৩০ অক্টোবর পর্যন্ত বাড়িয়েছে সৌদি আরব সরকার। বুধবার (৭ অক্টোবর) পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী ড. এ কে আবদুল মোমেন এ কথা জানান। তিনি বলেন, সৌদিতে বাংলাদেশের রাষ্ট্রদূত ড. মোহাম্মদ জাবেদ পাটোয়ারী সেদেশের সরকারের এ সিদ্ধান্তের কথা তাকে অবহিত করেছেন।
