Bangladesh-India to jointly organize tourism fair to increase tourists

Dhaka, Jan 31: To increase the number of tourists in the country, Bangladesh and India will jointly organize tourism fair.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Muhammad Farooq Khan MP said this during an exchange of views with reporters after a courtesy meeting with Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Kumar Verma at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

Farooq Khan also said that we discussed how to increase the cooperation between the two countries in the tourism industry, especially how more tourists from India can come to Bangladesh. To increase tourists, Bangladesh and India will jointly organize tourism fairs in the two countries. There was also talk of easing visas for tourists between the two countries.

The minister said that the friendship between the two countries will be strengthened by increasing cooperation in civil aviation and tourism industry. We have been given some proposals by India regarding the enhancement of relations in these two sectors. We will consider them. In addition, there was also a discussion on increasing air connectivity between the two countries.

The High Commissioner said that the cooperation between Bangladesh and India in aviation and tourism sector will strengthen the economic and commercial relations between the two countries. This is a very important issue in the growing relationship between the two countries. We will work on how to further enhance and institutionalize this cooperation.
