Biman Bangladesh doubles Delhi, Kolkata flights

Dhaka, October 18: Biman Bangladesh Airlines has announced a new schedule by increasing the number of flights from Dhaka to Delhi and Kolkata in India.

According to Biman, under the air bubble agreement, they will operate four flights a week on the Dhaka-Kolkata route and five flights a week on the Dhaka-Delhi route from October 19 (Tuesday). Earlier, Biman operated a total of four flights twice a week on those two routes.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines Deputy General Manager (DGM, Public Relations) Tahera Khandaker said Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate weekly flights on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays on the Dhaka-Kolkata route and on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays on the Dhaka-Delhi route.

The flight will leave Dhaka for Kolkata at 11:00 am local time and leave Kolkata for Dhaka at 12:15 pm local time. On the other hand, Biman will leave Dhaka for Delhi at 11:00 am local time and from Delhi at 2:00 pm local time.

Under the Air Bubble Agreement between Bangladesh and India, passengers traveling to India will have to take a negative report of the Covid-19 RT-PCR test within 72 hours of traveling. Besides, after landing at Kolkata Airport, passengers will have to undergo molecular tests at their own cost.

Meanwhile, private US-Bangla Airlines has announced to operate two weekly flights from Dhaka to Kolkata from October 21 under Air Bubble.
