Hajj flight starts from midnight

Dhaka, May 20: The first Hajj flight of this year will depart from Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday (May 21). Before this, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md. Mahbub Ali will inaugurate the flight at the concourse hall of Terminal-2 of the airport at 12:30 am.

This information was informed in a press release of the State Minister's office on Saturday afternoon. However, the officials of Ashkona Hajj office could not say for sure how many passengers will go on the first flight. They said that the number of pilgrims of the first flight can be confirmed after the immigration.

This year, 1 lakh 22 thousand 221 people from Bangladesh are expected to perform Hajj under public-private management. Of this, Biman Bangladesh Airlines will carry half and the remaining Hajj passengers will be carried by Saudi-based airlines Flynas and Saudi Airlines.
