Nagar Paribahan Inauguration of Nagar Paribahan on December 26
Own representative, Dhaka, December 20: 'Dhaka Nagar Paribahan' will be inaugurated on December 26 on a 21 km route from Ghatarchar in Keraniganj to Kanchpur in Narayanganj. At first 50 buses will run on this route. The buses will be painted green.
The information was given at the end of the 20th meeting of the Bus Route Rationalization Committee at Buriganga Hall of Nagar Bhaban of Dhaka South City Corporation on Sunday (December 19) afternoon.
After the meeting, Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, President of Bus Route Rationalization Committee and Mayor of Dhaka South City, said that the official journey of Dhaka Nagar Paribahan will start on December 26 with 30 buses of BRTC and 20 buses of TransSilver on Ghatarchar to Kanchpur route. The buses on this route will be green. Initially the journey started with 50 buses but in a few days a total of 100 buses will run on this route.
Atiqul Islam, another member of the committee and mayor of Dhaka North City, said the e-ticketing system would be introduced in buses on the route from day one. "Work on our passenger sheds is nearing completion. In addition, each bus driver and staff will have specific clothing. Their ID cards will be hanging around their necks. Only buses with registration and route permit will be able to operate on this route."
