Own Correspondent, Dhaka, March 30: From today, Wednesday (March 30), people can enter neighbouring India through land borders with tourist visas.

At the same time, from now on, e-mail confirmation of Indian High Commission will not be required for passenger crossing through land ports with tourist visa.

In this regard, the Indian Visa Application Centre sources said that those who were only allowed to travel to India on a tourist visa, will be able to convert that visa and travel to India by road (through land borders). In case of going to India, from now on, a new tourist visa (by road) can be taken. In this case you have to enter through Benapole and Akhaura land ports.

Bangladeshi nationals who have received Indian visa approval for air travel will be able to obtain road travel approval in lieu of that visa for a fixed fee. At the same time, you will be able to add travel permits by air as well as by road.

After being closed for almost two years during the pandemic, authorities had started issuing tourist visas to India on November 15 last year. Although the tourist visa was allowing passengers to enter India only by air. However, from now on, Bangladeshis will be able to go to India on land tourist visa.
