Dhaka, October 31: The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock has notified on Friday (October 30) that the National Zoo will allow free admission on the first Sunday of every month till March 2021, as the country celebrates the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The zoo is likely to open on Sunday (November 1) and is subjected to pre-determined conditions for the opening of the facility, a statement from the ministry said.

In this case school-college students will be given priority.

The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock has taken this decision on the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu under the direction of Fisheries and Livestock Minister S M Rezaul Karim.

The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock has directed the Department of Livestock to open the zoo to visitors from November 1, subjected to a number of conditions, including compliance with health regulations, following the closure of the national zoo from March 20 to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
