Gaza, Dec 21: Gaza's Health Ministry has claimed that over 20,000 Palestinians had been killed since October 7 in the Israeli attacks.

An average of 300 Palestinians, including women and children, have been killed every day since the start of the war, except for a seven-day ceasefire.

According to the Ministry of Health, the total population of Gaza is about 2.2 million. As such, about one percent of the valley's population has been killed so far by Israeli attacks.

Experts said, the death toll from the bombing is high because of Gaza's high population density. The 10 km wide and 41 km long Gaza Strip had more than 5,700 people per square kilometer before the war began.

According to US intelligence reports, Israel has dropped more than 29,000 bombs on Gaza as of mid-December in the ongoing conflict.

Since October 7, Israel has been launching a large-scale war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Earlier, an unprecedented attack by Hamas in southern Israel killed at least 1,200 Israelis following which the war started.
