Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 7 October 2023: Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Masahiro Okamura commented that the construction of third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and Matarbari deep sea port will help Bangladesh to get out of the list of least developed countries (LDC).

He said that the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport will make Bangladesh more prosperous economically. It will help to build a more economically prosperous country in the future.

Masahiro Okamura, Parliamentary Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, said these things at the inauguration ceremony of the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday.

He also said that the diplomatic relations between Japan and Bangladesh are as close as the flags of the two countries. Especially in April this year, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina transformed the relationship between the two countries into a strategic partnership. In this regard, bilateral relations between the two countries are progressing very well. As part of this, joint research is underway for defense equipment cooperation and possible partnership agreement between the two countries.

Masahiro Okamura said, when talking about Bangladesh-Japan relations, the issue of economic cooperation comes up. Japan has been working as a development partner of Bangladesh for the last 50 years.
