Four MoUs between Bangladesh and UAE signed

Dubai, March 9: Bangladesh has signed four MoUs with oil-rich UAE to enhance mutual cooperation.

The MoUs were signed with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Dubai Exhibition Center on Tuesday (March 8) afternoon in the presence of UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The four MoUs are: Cooperation on Higher Education and Science Research; A Memorandum of Understanding between the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) and the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR); A Memorandum of Understanding between the Foreign Service Academies of the two countries and a Memorandum of Understanding between the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and the Dubai International Chamber memorandum.

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said this to reporters. Earlier on March 6, the minister had said that four to five memorandum of understanding (MoU) could be signed during the Prime Minister's visit to the United Arab Emirates. At the same time, he said, even in the midst of the pandemic in the Middle East, the labour market has reopened for Bangladeshis.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Abu Dhabi on a five-day state visit on the evening of March 7. She is visiting at the invitation of UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. After the visit, the Prime Minister will return to the country on March 12.
