Sheikh Hasina PM reaches Washington DC from New York
Washington DC, Sept 26: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Washington DC from New York after attending the 77th session of the General Assembly and various high-level events at the United Nations headquarters.
Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary KM Shakhawat Moon said that the Prime Minister and her entourage arrived by road from New York to Washington DC on Saturday (September 24) evening. The Prime Minister arrived in New York on September 19 after attending the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II from September 15 to 19 in the United Kingdom.
During her stay in New York, Sheikh Hasina addressed the general debate of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly. She followed in the footsteps of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and delivered a speech in Bengali on September 23.
From September 20 to 23, Sheikh Hasina participated in several high-level and closed-door meetings as well as bilateral discussions with heads of government, states and various organizations. The Prime Minister is scheduled to return home on October 4.
