PM Sheikh Hasina arrives in the UAE

Abu Dhabi, March 8: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has arrived in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on a six-day visit.

A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BG-1301) carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage landed at Abu Dhabi International Airport on Monday evening. Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said this to the media at night. The Prime Minister was received at the airport by the Ambassador of Bangladesh to the United Arab Emirates Md. Abu Jafar.

Upon arrival at the airport, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was given a red carpet reception. She was also given a static guard of honour by a smart team of 21 members. Earlier, she took part in a day-long programme on the occasion of the historic March 7 and left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 4:15 pm on Monday for the UAE in a Biman Bangladesh Airlines BG-1301 VVIP flight.

Sheikh Hasina's visit is at the invitation of the country's Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. During her visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hold meetings with top leaders in the UAE. During the visit, Bangladesh may have four Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with the country. The visit will focus on sending manpower to the UAE labour market, expanding bilateral trade, launching direct shipping lines, renewable energy, sustainable development in climate change, and enhancing cooperation in ICT and artificial intelligence.

According to the schedule, the Prime Minister will leave for the Dubai Exhibition Center at noon on Tuesday (March 8), the second day of her visit. There, she will take part in a high-level panel discussion on 'Redefining the Future for Women' to mark International Women's Day. She will then visit the Bangladesh Pavilion there. In the afternoon, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh will have a meeting with the Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at the Dubai Exhibition Center.
