Cross border shelling in Rajouri : 71 schools closed

Srinagar, Feb 1: Authorities on Thursday closed 71 schools along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir following continuous shelling by the Pakistan army on Indian posts.

According to officials, the shelling and the resultant exchange of fire between two sides  began early morning in Lam and Pukharni areas of Nowhera  affecting a number of villages. 

Both sides resorted to firing from small arms and mortars, they said.

An official said that Pukharni, Kampala, Barat Gala, Rattal and Veer Badeshwar villages have comes under mortar fire.
