Dhaka, August 17: After the death of Delawar Hossain Sayeedi, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in the case of crimes against humanity, police clashed with the Jamaat supporters over the incident of vandalism and arson at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and Shahbagh intersection around the ambulance carrying his body. However, the police said to use 519 rounds of rubber bullets to disperse protesters. Besides, police are claiming that there has been a loss of around Tk 14-15 lakh in the vandalism-fire incident.

Dhaka, August 15: Delwar Hossain Sayeedi, a convicted war criminal and Jamaat-e-Islami leader, has passed away on Monday night while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). He was 83 years old.
