Bangladeshis among 178 rescued from Mediterranean by Tunisian Navy; two dead

Dhaka, June 29: The Tunisian navy has rescued 178 migrants, including Bangladeshis, from the Mediterranean, off the coast of Tunisia on Sunday. The bodies of the two were recovered at that time. Most of the rescuers are Bangladeshis who were traveling illegally from Libya across the Mediterranean to Europe by boat. Others rescued are citizens of Eritrea, Egypt, Mali and Ivory Coast.

Dhaka, June 25: Tunisian authorities on Thursday rescued 264 Bangladeshi migrants stranded at Mediterranean sea, the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) said.

Shipwreck off Tunisian coast: 30 Bangladeshis rescued alive, many missing

Tunis, May 19: More than 50 migrants have gone missing after a boat capsized off the southeastern coast of Tunisia. At least 30 Bangladeshis have been rescued alive from the sunken boat, the Tunisian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday. However, it is not yet known whether there are any Bangladeshis among the missing immigrants.
