Dhaka, March 11: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said her government is transforming the Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) into a modern and three-dimensional force by equipping it with ultra-modern smart technology, ships and helicopters to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

Chittagong: Lighter vessel carrying fertiliser capsizes in Karnaphuli river

Dhaka, Dec 11: A lighterage vessel carrying fertiliser named "MV Maksuda-2" has sunk in Karnaphuli river in Chittagong. However, no casualty was reported in this accident as all 13 sailors and workers of the ship narrowly escaped by jumping into the river.
