Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 22 July 2023: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Khandaker Golam Farooq said that the police could not provide security to Ashraful Alom alias Hero Alom, the candidate of Dhaka-17 constituency, as he went to the same center for the second time without informing the police. He said that criminals may have attacked on that opportunity.

Hero Alam allegedly attacked at polling station
Dhaka, July 18: At the last minute of the polling, an attack took place on Ashraful Alam aka Hero Alam, an independent candidate for the by-election in Dhaka-17 constituency. Eyewitnesses said that he was attacked at Banani Bidyaniketan School and College center around 3:30 in the afternoon.
