Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 7 August 2023: It has been raining heavily for the past few days in Kuakata, Kalapara, coastal district of Patuakhali. Low income people are suffering. Having to go to work place even in rain in search of livelihood. So they are crowding the umbrella shop. People are venturing outside with umbrella, raincoat or polythene.

Cyclone Mocha: Tourists evacuated from Kuakata beach

Dhaka, May 13: Cyclone Mocha, formed in the Bay of Bengal, is approaching the south-eastern coast of Bangladesh. The sea near the center of this cyclone is very rough. So, the local administration has ordered the tourists staying at Kuakata in Patuakhali to stay safe from the beach. Around 10 o'clock on Friday night, the tourist police and the municipality announced the matter through miking and all the tourists were evacuated safely. Although Friday was a holiday, there were few tourists due to the fear of cyclone Mokha in Kuakata. But many of those who are there will return today Saturday.
