Metro rail will run through the bottom of Turag river
Dhaka, October 29: For the first time in the country, a metro rail line is being laid under the river. The route will be about 20 km long from Hemayetpur in Savar to Bhatara in the capital. Work will be done under ‘MRT Line-5 Northern’ project. The line will run from Gabtali to the bottom of the river. Expenditure on the implementation of this route has been estimated at Tk 41,238.55 crore.
