Rangpur SP transferred for failing to curb violence
Dhaka, October 18: Rangpur District Superintendent of Police (SP) Biplob Kumar Sarkar has been transferred as he could not curb the communal violence. An officer of the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) has been transferred in this case. The transfer was made in a circular signed by Dhananjay Kumar Das, deputy secretary of the police-1 branch of the public security department of the home ministry, on Monday (October 18) by order of the President.
Culprits in Rangpur arson, communal violence identified
Dhaka, October 18: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that those involved in the house fire and looting at Pirganj in Rangpur have been identified immediately. He said 45 people have already been arrested. The minister also said that houses will be constructed for the victims soon. He told reporters at his office in the Secretariat on Monday (October 18) at noon.
