Dhaka, Feb 21: Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud said that the government's goal is to establish Bengali as an official language of the United Nations (UN).
The High Court has given a verdict in Bengali in honor of language martyrs
Dhaka, February 2: Honoring the martyrs of the great language movement, the High Court announced the verdict in Bengali language on the first day of February, the month of language. On Wednesday, February 1, in a writ case, the High Court bench consisting of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Md. Khairul Alam announced the verdict.
Bengali to be added to UN activities
Dhaka, June 14: The 76th session of the UN General Assembly passed a resolution calling for the use of multilingualism in all its activities. According to the proposal, from now on, information on all types of activities of the organisation will be available in English, French, Russian as well as Bengali.
