Dhaka, March 24: Nepal's President Bidya Devi Bhandari said Bangabandhu had a deep love and respect for the Bengali language, terming him as a proponent of protection and development of Bengali language with the support of the people of Bangladesh, while speaking as the guest of the sixth day of a 10-day program organised under the theme 'Mujib Chirantan' on the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth centenary and golden jubilee of independence at Parade Square in the capital on Monday.

Nepal President pays tribute at National Memorial

Dhaka, March 22: Nepal's President Bidya Devi Bhandari paid homage to the heroic martyrs at the National Memorial in Savar. On Monday (March 22) at 11:10 a.m., she came to the National Memorial to pay her respects to the martyrs. She was welcomed by the Minister of Liberation War Affairs, State Minister for Housing and Public Works, GOC of 9th Infantry Division, District Superintendent of Police and other senior government officials.

Four top leaders of South Asia to visit Dhaka

Dhaka, March 8: Four top leaders of South Asia will visit Dhaka this month on the occasion of Bangabandhu's birth centenary and golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence. Among them are Nepal's President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Maldives' President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
