Fear of deteriorating flood situation in 10 districts

Dhaka, August 31: The water of six rivers is flowing over the danger line at 13 points. In this context, the flood situation is expected to deteriorate in 10 districts of the north, north-central and central regions of the country, according to a report of rainfall and river condition from Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre of Bangladesh Water Development Board on Monday (August 30).

Water level in Padma and Jamuna rivers has increased by 18 cm

Dhaka, August 20: The Padma and Jamuna rivers in Pabna are overflowing due to continuous rains. Meanwhile, the water level in several rivers including Ichhamati, Hurasagar, Gumani and Chalanbil flowing through the district has risen by 18 cm. Water is flowing in the Padma River at Pakshi Hardinge Bridge Point in Ishwardi Upazila just below the danger level of 16 cm. On the other hand, the water in the river Jamuna is rising every day.

Lowlands inundated as water level of three rivers flowing over danger mark

Dhaka, August 19: Due to the increase in rainfall, the water of the rivers is increasing rapidly. The lowlands are being flooded by the overflowing banks. The situation is likely to deteriorate further.
