Labour Law to be passed in next session of Parliament: Law Minister

Error in typing: President sends back labour law passed in Parliament

Dhaka, Dec 7: The President returned the labour law passed by Parliament over a typing error that undermined workers' rights. Law Minister Anisul Huq said this while talking to reporters at his office in the Secretariat on Wednesday. He also said that when the new parliament sits after the elections, the error will be corrected.

Govt increases maternity leave of women workers to 120 days

Dhaka, Oct 10: The government has increased the maternity leave of women workers by eight days to 120 days. Along with this, women workers have been given the opportunity to take this leave at their convenience. Keeping such provisions, the Cabinet has given in-principle approval to the draft of the 'Bangladesh Labour (Amendment) Act 2023'.
