Woman killed in shooting in Rohingya camp
Dhaka, February 17: A Rohingya woman was killed and the team leader of a shed was shot by miscreants in the Ukhiya shelter camp of Cox's Bazar. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhia Police Station, Sheikh Mohammad Ali, said that separate incidents took place in Camp-8 and Camp-12 on Thursday morning and afternoon.
Six Rohingyas among eight killed in Cox's Bazar landslide
Dhaka, July 28: Eight people, including six Rohingyas, were killed in separate landslides and floods in the Rohingya camps at Ukhia, Maheshkhali and Teknaf in Cox's Bazar. Among those killed in the landslide are two from one family and three from another. Most of the dead were women and children. The landslides occurred at different times on Tuesday (July 27) dawn and morning.
Training center for skills development of Rohingya women launched in Cox's Bazar's Ukhia
Dhaka, February 9: A women-friendly center has been inaugurated to develop skills through security and training of displaced Rohingya women who have taken refuge in Bangladesh from Myanmar. The center has been set up at Lambasia in Kutupalong, Ukhia, Cox's Bazar. Mahfuzur Rahman, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Relief and Rehabilitation and Camp Incharge, cut the ribbon and inaugurated the camp on Monday (February 8) as the chief guest.
Ukhiya: Four members of same family found dead
