India assures speedy completion of rice import process
Dhaka, January 7: India has assured the expeditious completion of the rice import process through Bangladesh's Government-to-Government deal and tender. The assurance was given by Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Kumar Doraiswami during a meeting with Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder at the Secretariat on Thursday (January 7), according to a press release from the ministry.
Bangladesh to import 1.5 lakh metric tons of rice from India
Dhaka, January 7: The policy decision to import 1 lakh tonnes of non-basmati and 50,000 metric tonnes of Atap rice from India on an emergency basis has been approved.

Dhaka, December 31: The Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement has approved the Food Ministry's proposal to purchase another 50,000 tonnes of non-basmati cooked rice from India. The approval was given at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement held online on Wednesday (December 30).
