AR Rahman in Dhaka, to star 'Cricket Celebrates Mujib 100' concert today

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, March 29: On the occasion of Bangabandhu's birth centenary, Oscar winning Indian singer AR Rahman will star the 'Cricket Celebrates Mujib 100' concert today.

He has already arrived in Dhaka with a contingent of 240 people to perform in this special concert organized by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

BCB director AH Mallick said the Indian singer-composer arrived in Dhaka on Sunday (March 28) night. He along with his traveling companions is staying in a five star hotel in the capital. He and his team will be there for two days.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be present at the concert which will be held from 6 pm on Tuesday. AR Rahman said that he will sing two new songs in Bengali and Hindi in honour of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The main attraction of this concert is AR Rahman. The two-part concert will start at 5 pm at Mirpur Stadium and will continue till 6:30 pm. Then the Prime Minister will come to the ceremony at around 6:30. AR Rahman and his co-stars will perform for 3 hours from 7 pm to 10 pm.

Apart from AR Rahman, Mumtaz from Bangladesh will be performing in this concert. There will also be a performance by famous band 'Miles'.

This concert had been scheduled to be held in 2020. But that was not possible due to the Covid situation.
