Drug Case | Eka Drug case: Chargesheet filed against actress Eka
Dhaka, February 17: Police have filed a chargesheet against Dhaka-based actress Simon Hasan Ekar in a case under the Narcotics Control Act at Hatirjheel Police Station in the capital. The information was confirmed by Sub-Inspector Monir Mandal, General Registration Officer, Hatirjheel Police Station, on Thursday (February 17).
He said, the investigation officer of the case on January 11, the police sub-inspector. Faisal filed the chargesheet in the court. The chargesheet was accepted in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Islam on January 26. The case is currently awaiting transfer.
According to the case sources, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Hatirjheel police arrested him from a flat on July 31, 2021. Five pieces of yaba, fifty grams of cannabis and half a bottle of Keru liquor were seized from her house. Hatirjheel police sub-inspector (SI) Nazrul Islam filed the case.
The next day, on August 1, the accused was produced in the court alone and the investigation officer Md. Faisal applied for a three-day remand for proper investigation of the case. Defendant's lawyer sought cancellation of the remand and applied for bail. The state, on the other hand, opposed bail. After hearing both sides, the court denied remand and bail and ordered to send Eka to jail.
Later, on August 10 last year, the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Islam's virtual court granted bail to the Dhaka heroine on a bond of Tk 1,000 in a case under the Narcotics Control Act at Hatirjheel police station.
Earlier in July, Hatirjheel police arrested the actress alone for allegedly torturing a housemaid named Hajera. During the investigation of the case, drugs were seized from her house.
