Dhaka, October 15: Comedian Abu Hena Rony was burnt in a gas balloon explosion on the fourth foundation anniversary of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP). He and the burnt police constable Zillur Rahman were discharged from the hospital after about a month of treatment.

The authorities of Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Institute bid farewell to them. The event was organized. Expressing his feelings there, Abu Hena Rony said, "I got a new life. And it was possible because of the doctors."

He expressed his gratitude to Almighty Allah.

IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, burn unit coordinator Samanta Lal Sen along with doctors, nurses and police members were present in this event on Saturday (October 15) morning.

Abu Hena Rony also said, "I am very healthy today with the prayers of family, well-wishers, well-wishers and countrymen from the accident I had. It will take more time to fully recover. Today I'm getting discharged. Now I will go home and undergo treatment under the supervision of the doctors."

Referring to the 'second life' after the accident, he said, "I am standing before you today because of the hard work and service of the doctors."

Narrating the incident that day, Abu Hena Rony said, "When the balloon was released in the sky, it did not fly in the sky and fell to the side of the stage. I was right next to it. If the thread had been cut as the balloons came down, then such an incident would not have happened. The person who filled the balloon with gas lit the gas light without cutting the ribbon. And immediately there was an explosion. Several people were injured, and that person was definitely responsible."

Chief of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun expressed gratitude to the hard work of the doctors, for the treatment of Rony and Police Constable Zillur.

Referring to Rony, the IGP said, "He is going home today after recovery. After full recovery, he will again come on stage and entertain people. People will be entertained again with his jokes."

Samanta Lal Sen, coordinator of Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Institute, said, "We worked tirelessly to treat Abu Hena Rony and police constable Zillur. Apart from this, we were and are always dedicated to treating the other patients in the burn unit."
