Sitakunda Fire Chittagong: 1300 containers full of goods burnt, loss of Tk 900 crore
Dhaka, June 5, 2022: Almost all the containers damaged in the explosion after the fire at the BM container depot at Sitakunda in Chittagong were full of goods.

Of these, at least 1,300 containers contained imports and exports. Most of these cargo containers have been damaged. Many imported products have been burnt to ashes. '
He further said, "Most of the products kept for export have been burnt. There were many garments kept in containers for export. Those were the lead times for export. But the burning of garments will hamper export activities. It will be impossible to export on time. '
Meanwhile, Rakibul Alam Chowdhury, vice-president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) in Chittagong, said, "Exports have suffered a lot at BM's depot."
