Joint efforts needed to tackle economic challenges: Salman F Rahman

Dhaka, Jan 19: Advisor to the Prime Minister, Salman Fazlur Rahman, mentioned that everyone has to work together to face the economic challenges.

He said this in an exchange meeting with the delegation of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the apex organization of businessmen at the investment building in Agargaon of the capital on Thursday.

FBCCI congratulated him with flowers.

Salman F. Rahman said in the meeting, "Everyone must work together to face the economic challenges that have arisen in the prevailing unstable global context. Under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister, the way various challenges have been faced in the past, the pace of development of Bangladesh will continue by facing these challenges."

Meanwhile, a notification issued by the Cabinet Department on Thursday said that the appointment of Salman Fazlur Rahman will be unpaid. However, he will hold the rank of minister while holding the advisory post. Earlier on January 11, six people including Salman Fazlur Rahman were appointed as advisers to the Prime Minister. They will get ministerial rank, emoluments and perquisites while holding advisory posts, the recruitment notification said. In a new notification on Thursday, Salman Fazlur Rahman's appointment will be unpaid. In the last cabinet, Salman F. Rahman served as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's adviser on private industry and investment.
