Hasan Foez Siddique becomes Bangladesh's 23rd Chief Justice
Own representative, Dhaka, December 31: Appellate Division's Justice Hasan Foez Siddique has been appointed as the country's new Chief Justice. President Md. Abdul Hamid has appointed Hasan Foez Siddique as the Chief Justice under Article 95(1) of the Constitution, according to a notification issued on Thursday (December 30) by the Law and Justice Department of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.

Dhaka, October 28: Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain has said to evaluate the medical college students the answer sheet should be set to other colleges for evaluation. নিজস্ব প্রতিনিধি, ঢাকা, ১৩ আগস্ট ২০২০ : জালিয়াতির মাধ্যমে ফারমার্স ব্যাংক থেকে চার কোটি টাকা ঋণ নিয়ে আত্মসাতের মামলায় সাবেক প্রধান বিচারপতি সুরেন্দ্র কুমার সিনহাসহ ১১ আসামির বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ গঠন করে বিচার শুরুর আদেশ দিয়েছে আদালত। বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাসে এই প্রথম কোনো সাবেক প্রধান বিচারপতি দুর্নীতিতে অভিযুক্ত হলেন। কানাডা প্রবাসী সিনহাকে পলাতক দেখিয়েই এ মামলার বিচার কাজ চলবে।
Bangladesh: Arrest warrant issued against ex Chief Justice
নিজস্ব প্রতিনিধি, ঢাকা, জানুয়ারি ৬ : ফারমার্স ব্যাংক (বর্তমানে পদ্মা ব্যাংক) থেকে ৪ কোটি টাকা ঋণ নিয়ে আত্মসাতের অভিযোগে করা মামলায় সাবেক প্রধান বিচারপতি সুরেন্দ্র কুমার (এসকে) সিনহাসহ ১১ জনের বিরুদ্ধে গ্রেফতারি পরোয়ানা জারি করেছেন আদালত। দুর্নীতি দমন কমিশনের (দুদক) দেয়া চার্জশিট আমলে নিয়ে ঢাকা মহানগর দায়রা জজ কে এম ইমরুল কায়েশ রোববার এ আদেশ দেন।
