Dhaka, June 11: A fire broke out on a ferry from Shimulia Ghat in Munshiganj to Majhirkandi. However, no casualties were reported.

Own representative, Dhaka, December 25: Five people, including a burnt child, have been brought to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery after a fire broke out on a moving launch on Sugandha river in Jhalokati. Health Minister Zahid Maleque visited the Burn Institute to see the burn victims on Friday (December 24) at around 6:00 pm.

Ferry fire: Most burn victims critical, says senior doctor

The condition of most of them is critical, said the chief coordinator of the burn unit Dr. Samantalal Sen.

Own representative, Dhaka, December 25: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has started rescue operations in the fire that engulfed the Barguna-bound MV Abhiyan -10 launch on Sugandha river in Jhalokati district. Meanwhile RAB Director General (DG) Additional IGP Chowdhury Abdullah-Al Mamun went to the spot by helicopter to take part in the rescue operation.

Jhalakati ferry fire kills at least 39

Dhaka, December 24: At least 39 people have died and 72 others have been injured after a massive fire swept through a ferry on Sugandha River in southern Bangladesh, officials said on Friday.
