Dhaka, February 23: A court has sentenced Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Mizanur Rahman Mizan to three years in prison and former ACC director Khandaker Enamul Basir to eight years in prison on charges of leaking information and bribery. Judge Sheikh Nazmul Alam of Dhaka Special Judge's Court-4 pronounced the verdict on Wednesday (February 23).

নিজস্ব প্রতিনিধি, ঢাকা, ১৩ আগস্ট ২০২০ : জালিয়াতির মাধ্যমে ফারমার্স ব্যাংক থেকে চার কোটি টাকা ঋণ নিয়ে আত্মসাতের মামলায় সাবেক প্রধান বিচারপতি সুরেন্দ্র কুমার সিনহাসহ ১১ আসামির বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ গঠন করে বিচার শুরুর আদেশ দিয়েছে আদালত। বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাসে এই প্রথম কোনো সাবেক প্রধান বিচারপতি দুর্নীতিতে অভিযুক্ত হলেন। কানাডা প্রবাসী সিনহাকে পলাতক দেখিয়েই এ মামলার বিচার কাজ চলবে।
