Dhaka, March 21, 2021: President Abdul Hamid and visiting Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa are emphasizing on exchanging experiences in the socio-economic development of the two countries. The two leaders emphasized the issue in a courtesy call at Bangabhaban on Saturday (March 21).

Rajapaksa pays homage to Bangabandhu

Dhaka, March 20: The Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa has paid homage to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On Saturday (March 20) morning, he paid homage by laying a wreath at the portrait of Dhanmondi No. 32. 

Six MoUs signed between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka

Dhaka, March 20: Six MoUs have been signed between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The bilateral agreements were signed at a bilateral meeting between the two countries at the Prime Minister's Office on Saturday (March 20) at 12 noon.

Bangladesh seeks Sri Lanka's cooperation in Rohingya repatriation

Dhaka, March 20: Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has sought Sri Lanka's active co-operation in repatriating the displaced Rohingya people of Myanmar. The Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa assured full cooperation in this regard. He also assured the Human Rights Council of strong support for the Bangladeshi candidate for 2023-25.

Dhaka, March 8: Four top leaders of South Asia will visit Dhaka this month on the occasion of Bangabandhu's birth centenary and golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence. Among them are Nepal's President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Maldives' President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
