Municipal elections: Ansar member injured in Daganbhuiyan blast

Dhaka, January 16: An Ansar member was injured in a grenade blast at a polling station in Feni's Daganbhuna municipality. The incident took place at Ganipur Government Primary School in Ward 8 of the municipality around 10 am on Saturday.

Second round of municipal elections held peacefully

Dhaka, January 16: The second round of municipal elections has been completed amid widespread voter turnout, exclusion and allegations of coercion, ignoring the risks of winter and corona. Voting runs from 8am to 4pm on Saturday (January 16). The election ended in a generally peaceful atmosphere, despite allegations of violence, evictions of voters and agents in several places.

Several Awami League candidates victorious in municipality elections

Dhaka, December 29: The first round of voting in the municipal elections has been completed. Overall, there is no one close to the ruling Awami League in this election. Out of 24 municipalities, Awami League has won 17 mayoral posts, independents have won three and BNP has won two.

Selection of nomination papers on 22nd December. The last day for withdrawal of candidature is December 29. Alamgir, senior secretary of the Election Commission (EC), announced the schedule on Wednesday (December).
