Dhaka, March 24, 2024: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman said that if someone of the third gender extorts money from houses, roads and vehicles, they will be brought under the law.
Separate counter for third gender opened at RMC hospital
Dhaka, January 23: A separate ticket counter for the third gender community has been opened outside Rajshahi Medical College (RMC) Hospital. As a result, they can visit specialist doctors very easily by buying tickets from the counter allocated in the hospital.
Recommendations for identification of persons of third gender through medical examination
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Sept 23: The Parliamentary Standing Committee has recommended issuing identity cards (ID cards) to real third-gender individuals through a medical examination. At the same time, it is recommended to meet with the third gender community and human rights commission to take necessary measures regarding them.
First count of third gender in census
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, July 28: In 1974, the first census was conducted in Bangladesh. After that, a total of six censuses (1981, 1991, 2001, 2011 and 2022) were conducted. However, this is the first time that third gender people have been officially included in the list. They took another step forward in implementing the long-standing demand of the third gender people to get evaluation in all fields by the nation.
People of third sex will be able to inherit property
Dhaka, February 24: Land Minister Md Saifuzzaman Chowdhury said the government has taken initiative to ensure inheritance of property of third gender people, adding that a draft proposal has already been prepared and sent to the cabinet department. He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of the Model Child Day Care Center set up at Bhumi Bhaban on Wednesday (February 23) through the 'Establishment of 20 Child Day Care Centers' project.

Dhaka, February 19: Simran of the third gender is working as a volunteer in Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2022. They are providing 'wheel chair service' on behalf of Switch Bangladesh Foundation. On Friday, the fourth day of the book fair, they were seen volunteering. They also worked as a volunteer at the 2021 Book Fair.
