Awami League candidates sweep polls, BNP, rebels win two

Dhaka, March 1: In the fifth phase, voting was held in 29 municipalities in the country on Sunday (February 28). Of these, BNP has won only in Bogra municipality. And the rebel candidate of Awami League has won in Haragache of Rangpur. In all the other cases, the Awami League candidates won. EVM voting was held in all the municipalities on this day.

EC decides to hold sudden polls in 30 municipalities

Dhaka, February 27: The Election Commission (EC) has decided to conduct Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) voting in all the centers in the general elections of 30 municipalities in 20 districts in the fifth phase. The fifth round of voting is scheduled for Sunday. The EC decided three days earlier, on Thursday (February 25).

Voting to take place in 63 municipalities in third phase of polls

Dhaka, January 30: Voting will be held in 63 municipalities of the country in the third phase on Saturday. Voting will continue from 8 am to 4 pm. In the third phase, voting will be done through ballot papers in all the municipalities.

Awami League candidate set to win big in Chittagong election

Dhaka, January 28: Awami League candidate Rezaul Karim Chowdhury is leading with 71,694 votes in 183 out of 735 constituencies of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC). The results were announced at 6pm on Wednesday (January 27) at the city's gymnasium. Returning Officer Muhammad Hasanuzzaman announced the results.
