Arrest warrant against Evaly's MD and Chairman

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, March 5, 2024: The court has issued arrest warrants against Evely's Managing Director (MD) Mohammad Russell and Chairman Shamima Nasreen in three separate cases of check fraud. The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Farah Diba Chandar gave this order on Monday. The plaintiff's lawyer Sakibul Islam confirmed the matter.

Summons were issued to them to appear in court in these cases. As the accused did not appear, the court issued an arrest warrant against them. Earlier, on January 15, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Ali Haider's court issued an arrest warrant against them. Earlier, summons were issued to them to appear in court in this case. As they did not appear in the court that day, the court issued an arrest warrant against them. Later on Wednesday (January 17) he surrendered in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Haider and applied for bail. After the hearing, the court granted bail to Russell. In the same case, the accused Shamima Nasreen, the chairman of Evely, who has an arrest warrant, did not appear in the court.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Evaly, the discussed e-commerce company, Mohammad Russell took part in the process of refunding the money to the customers at the office of the National Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection in Kawran Bazar in the capital on Sunday afternoon. There, he said, every creditor's debt to Evaly will be paid. In this case all those who have complained or those who have not complained will be paid according to the list.
