Dhaka, Jan 6: December 2022 saw the highest export earnings in the history of the country. Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has expected an export income of 81 billion US dollars in 2024.

He said, the garment industry of the country has turned around. The export earnings in December crossed an all-time record. Last year we had set a target of export earnings of 51 billion dollars, which at the end of the year reached 61 billion dollars, which is almost 20 percent more than the target. With that courage, I set a target of 67 billion dollars this time. By 2024, we want $81 billion.

He said these in the speech of the chief guest at the opening ceremony of 'Arthasuchak Capital Market Expo 2023' on Thursday (January 5).

Tipu Munshi said that more than 50 percent of the money is taken from the capital market in developed economies. We don't have that situation in our country. Loans are being taken from banks in the country. For which there are several problems. If even 50 percent of the money came from the capital market, then business and trade in our country is bound to improve.

Commerce Minister said, we are now going through a global crisis. Still, the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has managed the situation. We are in a fairly good position. As the country moves forward, a group is cleverly spreading rumours. They are lying, trying to mislead people. This group does not want the development of the country.

He also said that not only the capital market, but also politicians want to speak against development. But they do not want the development of this country. These people killed Bangabandhu in seventy five. Then they tried to make 'Joy Bangla' 'Bangladesh Zindabad'. They have tried to change the perspective of the main politics.

Tipu Munshi also said, “The turning point in our garment industry came when Rana Plaza collapsed. Many workers were killed. The world's buyers were restless. Garment industry owners are also restless, what do we know! If the buyer turns away! But one thing is to be noted, we have turned around after that danger. We have complied. Today we have the most green factories in the world.
