Gold prices hit record high in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Jan 18: The price of gold has increased further. It is up by Tk 1,400 per bhori. As a result, the price of good quality i.e. 22 carat gold stands at Tk 1,12,441 per bhori. This is the highest price of gold in the market of the country. This price was Tk 1,11,041 per bhori earlier.

This information was shared in a press release signed by Masudur Rahman, chairman of the Standing Committee on Price Determination and Price Monitoring of Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) on Wednesday.

According to Bajus, the price of acidic gold has increased in the local market. The new price of gold has been fixed keeping in view the overall situation. The new prices will be effective from Thursday (January 18).

According to the new prices, the price of best quality or 22 carat gold is Tk 1,12,441 per bhori (11.664 grams), 21 carat gold price is Tk 1,07,309 per bhori, 18 carat is Tk 92,029 per bhori and traditional gold price is Tk 76,632.

The price of gold has been increased but the price of silver has been kept unchanged. According to the category, at present the price of 22 carat silver is Tk 2,100 per bhori, 21 carat is 2,006 per bhori, 18 carat is Tk 1,715 per bhori and traditional silver is Tk 1,283.
