Chapainawabganj: BSF took away the body of a youth after he was shot dead at the border

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 3 April 2024: A youth named Saiful Islam (30) was killed by BSF firing while fetching cows at Rokanpur border of Gomstapur Upazila of Chapainawabganj. The incident took place on the border of Radhanagar Union of the upazila on Tuesday (April 2) night.

No use of lethal weapons on border: BSF DG

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 10 February 2024: Director General of India's Border Security Force (BSF) Nitin Agarwal has said that the BSF is using non-lethal weapons on the Bangladesh border. Various initiatives have been taken to reduce border killings to zero. He said this in response to a question asked by journalists at the joint press conference of the BGB-BSF DG on the last day of the 54th BGB-BSF Director General level border conference in Dhaka on Saturday (March 9).

We too are to be blamed for border killings: Security Adviser

Two Bangladeshis killed at Lalmonirhat border

Dhaka, December 31: Two Bangladeshis were killed by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in the early hours of Thursday morning at Barakhata Dolapara border in Hatibandha Upazila of the district. They are Manglu Mia of Fakirpara village of Barakhata Union of Hatibandha Upazila and Sadik Hossain of Dolapara village.

BGB-BSF meeting to discuss border killings among 10 issues

Dhaka, December 23: The 51st Director General level border conference between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) of India has started in Guwahati, India, on 10 issues, including stopping border killings. The conference started at 3 pm on Tuesday. The conference will be formally concluded on December 25 with the signing of the Joint Record of Discussions (JRD).
