Eight Jessore residents infected with Indian variant of coronavirus

Dhaka, June 1: The Indian genus of coronavirus has been identified in the bodies of eight local patients in Jessore at the Genome Center of Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST). None of the identified patients had any connection or history of going to India.

65 return from India through Darsana check post

Dhaka, May 25: Another 65 people stranded on the eighth day at the Darshana checkpost in Chuadanga have returned home from India. One among them tested positive from the deadly coronavirus. They returned to the country on Monday (May 24) and underwent Covid testing conducted by the Chuadanga Health Department.

Indian strain of coronavirus found in two at DNCC hospital

Dhaka, May 15: An Indian variant of the coronavirus has been identified in the bodies of two patients at the DNCC's Dedicated Corona Hospital in Dhaka. The hospital's director Brigadier General AKM Nasir confirmed the matter to media on Friday.

622 India returnees celebrate Eid at residential hotels

Dhaka, May 15: Eid celebrations were held at a hotel in Jessore for 622 Bangladeshi passport holders returning from India. The district administration shared the joy of Eid with them amid quarantine at the hotel. In the morning they were provided with good quality breakfast and pulao, chicken and mutton were served in lunch.

No place for quarantine in Jessore, patients being sent to neighbouring districts

Dhaka, May 1: Passport holders returning from India are being kept in a 14-day institutional quarantine at 29 residential hotels in Jessore. However, the quarantine centers in the district have been filled with more passengers returning from India than expected. The returning passengers are being sent to Khulna, Satkhira, Jhenaidah and Narail.

10 India returnees Covid-19 patients escape from Jessore hospital

Dhaka, April 26: Ten coronavirus patients returning from India have escaped from the corona ward of Jessore 250-bed general hospital. They fled between Saturday (April 24) morning and Sunday (April 25) afternoon. It is alleged that the patients managed to escape due to negligence from the nurses and staff of the hospital. According to the doctors, there is a danger of spreading the Indian strain of corona.

19 men and women return home after serving their sentences in India

Dhaka, January 29: Nineteen Bangladeshi men and women have returned home after serving various terms for entering India. The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has repatriated them through the Sheola customs port at Beanibazar in Sylhet. They were handed over to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) through Sheola customs port on Thursday (January 27th) afternoon.
